For the last 33 years I have had many roles in the Turf Industry. I was a Caddie Crew member, an Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, Director of Agronomy, and now I manage and support distributors for AQUA-AID. My mom and dad really helped my love for the turf industry when they pushed me towards golf instead of football. I can remember them taking me to my lawn jobs in the neighborhood and reviewing my work and letting me know if it was acceptable. After working for several years for Jim Simmons at Shoal Creek I decided to attend Mississippi State and pursue a career in turf. On a Saturday morning you will find me at my hunting camp. I love the farm and all the work that goes into it. Most of all I enjoy the time with my family and friends in the great outdoors. One thing people may not know about me is that my career began when I caddied for Buddy Alexander in the 1986 US Amateur Championship at Shoal Creek. He won and on the 16thgreen I walked up to Mr. Simmons and said I would like to work with him on the golf course. The legacy I want to leave is joy and passion. I love seeing people I have worked with be successful and my hope is that they remember my joy, my passion for life and turf, and that they could always count on me.
