Bill Brown, CGCS

Director of Marketing and Brand Development / NE US Sales Manager

Throughout my 25 years in the industry I have strived to take that next step. I believe my foundation was a strong one, with mentors pressing upon strong agronomics and business acumen. This foundation helped my elevation to Certified Golf Course Superintendent as well as my role as Regional Agronomist. Providing solutions in the industry has also been a goal of mine. In 2010 I began teaching around the North America on integrating technology and social media/personal branding to turf managers and business professionals in the industry. The diversity of my background, including the launch of Turf Republic, Inc has prepared me to excel in my roll with AQUA-AID and bring value to the business and industry.

Working on a golf course in high school, I was having too much fun. When introduced with the opportunity to attend college to do this professionally blew my mind. I was prepared to attend York College, to hopefully play Division 3 basketball but dropped out 2 weeks before my freshmen year to begin my education at Penn State University to achieve my BS in Turfgrass Science. The camaraderie and unique challenges is what excited me about the industry. You can’t be the office view either.

We are a busy family and weekends don’t often feel like “days off.” My wife is a runner and the desire to support her in races, but not wanting to wait at the finish line, has me trying not to get beat too bad on a weekend race. Our two boys keep us on our towes as well. They enjoy traveling, sports, building legos and weekends seeing their grandparents. 3 years ago the family decided to see what karate was like. It has been one of our great adventures as a family and very proud to join my boys in their journey in Tang Soo Do and Hapkido black belt.

Within our industry I believe to be the youngest to be elected to local Superintendent association Board of Directors. From a personal perspective, I have been training in both Tang Soo Do and Hapkido and look forward to finishing my journey to black belt soon.
